The Creative Computing team is part of the Department of Computing and the Digital Environment at Coventry University. We offer three undergraduate degrees based on a common theme of ‘Creative Computing’; that is, the study of computer science and how it is applied in the sphere of arts, media, entertainment, games, web design, product design and pervasive interactive systems. An iPod, for example, is the result of creative computing design – at once technologically clever and aesthetically pleasing.
The need for computing in the creative industries is building a huge demand for graduates with combined computer and design skills – people who can access and understand the underlying code and hardware that ‘runs’ the games, the movies and the mobiles.
Our three undergraduate degrees are:
All three of these degrees start with a common core in the first year – allowing for a choice of specialisation in years two and three. There is considerable flexibility for course change
Applying for a course
Undergraduate applications are handled through the standard UCAS method. However we are very keen to meet with prospective students at one of our open days. We can also invite you for a study day - where you will spend the day with our current first year students to get a feel for university life.
